The things people ask before signing up.
For the guided workouts, yes: a smart trainer is what lets ASKYON hold you at the target watts. But you do not need one to look around. There is a demo ride that simulates a trainer, so you can run a full session and see exactly how it works before spending anything. Full Event HQ and the Food plan need no hardware at all.
Anything that speaks Bluetooth FTMS, which is the standard nearly every modern smart trainer uses, including Wahoo, Tacx, Elite, Saris, JetBlack and Zwift's own. If your trainer is ANT+ only, ASKYON also speaks ANT+ FE-C through a USB stick. A Bluetooth heart rate strap will connect too.
ASKYON is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of those brands, and their trademarks belong to them.
Chrome or Edge. Talking to a trainer uses Web Bluetooth and WebUSB, and Safari and Firefox do not support them. This is a limitation of those browsers, not something ASKYON can work around. Everything that is not the trainer connection works anywhere.
Yes. On Chrome or Edge there is a Download app button inside ASKYON Ride. It installs to your Start menu with its own icon and its own window, no browser tabs or address bar. It is the same app, just without the browser wrapped around it.
Yes, free while we are in beta, with no card required. It will not stay free forever, and when that changes it will be said plainly and in advance. See Pricing.
Structured smart trainer workouts across recovery, endurance, sweet spot, threshold, VO2 max, anaerobic and test sessions, from twenty minutes to two and a half hours, plus guided plans. Full Event HQ builds a week-by-week campaign around one race, covering training, fuelling, kit and race-day logistics. The Food plan gives daily targets, meal ideas and a costed shopping list. There is an optional leaderboard and XP system if you like chasing a number.
Riding a workout on a real climb in 3D, with the gradient driving your trainer. It is in beta and openly rough around the edges, and it is not the point of the app. The workout screen is what makes you faster. Treat the scenery as company for the effort.
Yes. If you connect Strava, finished rides upload automatically with the workout name and your stats. Demo rides never upload. You can disconnect at any time.
Your account, plan and rides live in Supabase in the EU. There is no advertising tracking and no selling of anything to anybody. Training and health-related data is special category data under UK GDPR, so it is only stored with your explicit consent, and you can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
